Estimates
How I work
Either I work to a quote or I charge for the actual time taken.
Each has advantages.
Estimates:
An estimate (or quotation) gives you a fixed labour cost.
Materials are extra (charged at cost) unless you supply everything.
I don't charge for small things I supply like screws or glue but anything unexpectedly needed (plus the time taken to get it) will be added.
Charging by time:
Working through a list often works out cheaper than an itemised estimate because unused time from one job goes towards the next task.
You don't pay for my breaks but you do pay for time taken to purchase anything required for the job.
Note: Visits to give estimates are normally arranged for evenings and estimates are provided by email.
